The Terrafugia Transition Flying Car
I remember as a kid, daydreaming about being able to fly around in a car and visiting exotic locales around the world. I remember keeping magazine article that boldly declared that we would all be sky-bound by the year 2000 in a futuristic personal transport utopia. . .
Well, it’s 2010 and to say that we are landlocked is quite an understatement!
Maybe not for long though. . .
I recently saw an article on MotorTrend taking about the Terrafugia Transition car (pictured below).

In essence, this is a fold up plane that you can drive to the airport. Now there is nothing new about the concept, as you have probably seen vehicle like this back in the 60s, but what is new is that it is the only such vehicle to be approved by the FAA!
At $200,000, this is still out of reach for the majority of people but it is an important milestone nonetheless. I am truly looking forward to being able to take to the skies and finally there is something that is versatile enough to get my day dreams going again!
Now I ask you, if you had the chance would you buy a flying car? Where would be the first place you’d fly too?
